Bone tissue engineering
Our laboratory Inserm unit 957 is performing research on bone pathophysiology, osteoporosis, treatments of bone tumors and regenerative therapies (http://www.u957.univ-nantes.fr/). We are coordinating a large scale European project (http://www.reborne.org) that aims to regenerate bone defects in orthopedic and maxillofacial surgery by using stem cells and biomaterials.
The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will be required to undertake the experimental work and help with the management of research activities of the team in relation to the European project REBORNE. She/he should have a strong expertise in cell and molecular biology of human mesenchymal stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells as well as biomaterials in the context of bone tissue regeneration.
She/he will be working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team with interest in three dimensional cultures of different cell populations, biomaterials, animal experiments and histology. The successful candidate will be in charge of project coordination, execution and reporting. Highly motivated and innovative individuals with background in cell and molecular biology, biomaterials, veterinary or medical training are encouraged to apply. A MD or PhD is required for this fix term position funded up to 24 months. Good knowledge of French or eagerness to learn the language would be helpful in daily life.
